There are so many horrible things about this story. The dog was set up for failure, the news woman didn't recognize the signs she was seeing or understand the pressure she was applying to the dog, and the dog will very sadly be mistaken for a "pit bull" adding further to the myth that pit bulls bite more frequently than other dogs. Sadly, I would not be surprised if this dog was put to sleep as a result of this, particularly because his rabies vaccination is reportedly out of date. I can only hope that the news woman will make the best of this and try to educate others on signs of stress and appropriate interactions with dogs. I hope she is healing well and is not too scarred by this event emotionally.
